Congrats to the New AIA CEO!

The dawn of spring, amid Women’s History Month, seems a fitting moment to offer warmest congratulations and enthusiastic support to Carole Wedge FAIA NOMA LEED AP as the AIA’s recently placed Executive Vice President / Chief Executive Officer. How wonderful for the members of the AIA individually and the profession of architecture collectively that she is now at the helm!

It is heartening to hear such inspiring, compelling, and meaningful comments regarding Carole’s leadership so early in her tenure. Care for the members. Concern for firms. Connection to the local and state components. Cooperation with partners. Collaboration with communities. Commitment to the strategic plan. Our beloved organization is fortunate to welcome Carole’s wisdom as we look to further emphasize the crucial issues of our time, especially climate action and social justice.

Carole’s commitment to the stewardship of the built environment through her former professional and volunteer roles is certain to guide our association in a positive and productive direction during these unprecedented and challenging times. I have no doubt that her EVP-ship will be transformative for the membership, profession, industry, and beyond.

Carole, I wish you great strength and much success. Thank you for serving the AIA – and supporting our profession – in such a vital and vibrant way!
